Default At home alignment

Anybody know any tricks of the trade to align your car at home...just so its safe enought to drive to the shop to get aligned.

I changed my struts out today, and drove the car to work (getting aligned in the morning) and it was horriblly off. The tires were pointed in, causing the car to jolt back and forwth.

Didn't know if there was a simple was to make it "close"

Thanks

Two straight edges at least a foot longer than the tire is across (prefer 2x6s myself), a tape measure and a buddy.

Make sure the tires are as close to straight as you can get them. Put the boards flat against the outside of the tires and measure the front edge. Keeping the boards flat on the tire, measure the back. Adjust the tie rods till both the measurements are as close as you can get it.

Just make sure you keep the boards tight against BOTH tires. That's where the buddy comes in.
